I watched as the sweat beadlets formed and fell from his pale white face
It was 93 degrees outside but his body shook as if it was 10 below 0.
He closed his eyes and rocked back and forth clenching the water bottle in his hands.
His skin so clammy and lifeless.
It was wearing off
He needed another fix, but was trapped by his own family
In and out of rehabs and programs to find solutions
Nothing was working
He was suffering...
Depression
Anxiety
PTSD from the Navy
BiPolar
2 Major automobile accidents
Jail time
The prescription drugs did nothing but make him feel emotionless
He turned to self- medication to suppress his emotions and numb his pain
But he needed more
He started with pills but soon they became too expensive and too hard to find
He turned to Heroin
He whispered to himself everyday and night:
“God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference. Amen”
His addiction continued and his suffering progressed to a point of termination
His mental and physical suffering was gone but the type of suffering called grief and mourning will never leave his gravesight.
